Student Book Chats
Our lunchtime Book Chat groups meet in the Library on Mondays and Fridays, with either Ms. Allen or Dr. Glass, or both. The 3rd graders meet every Friday to read and discuss a super funny book called Superfudge by Judy Blume. We read all about the funny antics of Fudgie and Pee-tah. The 4th graders meet every Monday. The boys are reading The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick with Dr. Glass and the girls are reading Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick with Ms. Allen. These books tell a thrilling story through a combination of suspenseful text and spectacular pictures. Our 5th grade girls meet with Dr. Glass on Mondays. They are reading a book by Andrew Clements called No Talking, where the children in the book have a contest between boys and girls to see who can go the longest without talking. It will be interesting to see who the winners are. The 5th grade boys are reading Scepter of the Ancients by Derek Landy, and they meet on Fridays with Dr. Glass. This is an exciting book about a skeleton detective named Skulduggery Pleasant. Our 6th grade boys meet on Mondays with Ms. Allen and are reading a mystery called Found: The Missing: Book 1 by Margaret Peterson Haddix. This book starts out with an airplane with no adults, no pilot, and no flight attendants... only 36 babies!
