Springtime is an exciting time of the year as we see our students blossom into readers and writers! We have finished all of our letter sounds and are reading for many purposes!  Writers Workshop allows our students to put these reading skills to use as they create stories about their own life experiences just like famous authors!  We have moved from a focus on adding detail to our illustrations to making sure our illustrations tell our complete story.  We are now labeling pictures like Richard Scarry and writing sentences about our illustrations just like Don Freeman did when he wrote the much loved childrens book Corduroy.
