Week of April 30
Monday: Read Autumn 1934 and Winter 1935 Due Mon. May 7th.
Tuesday
: Do The Literature Response Journals for the two chapters. Due Mon. May 7th
Wednesday:
Decide Topic to write about for the Realistic Fiction Story
Thursday:
Study for Wordly Wise Quiz
Friday: Wordly Wise Quiz 10, 11, or 12

Week of April 23

Monday: Prepare for group discussions for Out of the Dust. AND Wordly Wise Section 10 or 11 Lesson A, B, C, D. 
Tuesday:
Read Chapters Spring 1934 and Summer 1934. Do Literature Response Journals for each chapter. DUE Monday, April 30th.
Wednesday:
Section E of Wordly Wise Due Monday.
Thursday:
Yom Ha'atzmaut!!!!!

A Week, No CLass

       Welcome Back!
Monday: Replenish your supplies.
Tuesday: Read "Winter 1934." Write your thoughts in the book and complete one entry in your Literary Response Journal. 
Wednesday:
Reread the Realistic Fiction mentor texts. Be ready to discuss the characteristcis tomorrow.
Thursday:
Bring your Wordly Wise
Friday: Wordly Wise ABCD Due next Tues, April 24.

Week of March 19
Monday: In response to "Eleven" By Sandra Cisneros, write a paragraph (similar in structure to a body paragraph) about how Rachel, the main character, wants the day of her eleventh birthday to be as far away as possible. Give three reasons why. Due tomorrow, Tuesday.
Tuesday: Wordly Wise A, B, C, D Due
Wednesday: Writer's Workshop Bring all writing materials and newly typed 2nd draft printed out.
Thursday: Writer's Workshop
Friday: Wordly Wise Lesson 9 Quiz

Week of Mar. 12
Monday: ***Purchase the book "Out of the Dust" by Karen Hesse*** & Type up your group's questions from class for The Egypt Game or The Golden Goblet.  
Tuesday: Worldy Wise HW Lesson 10 Sections A,B,C,D (DUE next Tues)
Wednesday:
 BOYS: Complete missing components of essay, if any, from the checklist.
                    GIRLS: Finish drafting ALL body paragraphs if not finished in class. 
Thursday:    
BOYS: Type in all transitions for the body paragraphs as was written in class.
Friday: NO CLASS. Week A

Week of Feb. 27

Tuesday:
Finish up T-Charts and begin drafting literary essay
Wednesday:
Drafting literary essay (Bring your laptop if you have one)
Thursday:
HW: plan out your Quiz story for Lesson 8
Friday: Wordly Wise Quiz Lesson 8
Come to class prepared with your quiz. NO open book!

Week of Feb. 13th
Monday: Podcasts DUE in written form.
Tuesday: WW Lesson A, B, and C DUE and bring your Writer's Notebook to class. We are starting to plan our literary essays.
Wednesday: Boys - Bring WW books to class. Girls, there is no class due to early dismissal.
Thursday: Bring Writer's notebook to class. We will begin drafting our literary essay. If you have  laptops, bring them. 
Friday: Week A, No Class.

Jan. 17
The end of the semester is approaching fast! Make sure you are putting the final touches on your personal essays. The publishing date is this Thursday, Jan. 19!

Don't forget to be doing your reading! A minimum of 20 minutes per night. Make sure you are taking notes in the book. 

HW Dec. 29

Read 20 min. per night of your book. Be sure to take notes in the book including

chapter summaries, underlining words you don't know, and thinking of questions you

have about the reading. The next reading discussion day will be Monday, Jan. 9.

HW: Dec. 28

Type added corrections to the 1st draft of your essay (including transitions).

Print out and bring into class Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.
